“They Never Actually Belonged To You”
111cms x 150cms
A quilt of contrasts, red and blue, happiness and sadness. Happy the children are articulate, confident and adventurous enough to make their own way in the world; a little sad that they’re leaving you alone after such a long emotional investment. A time of adjustment. Friends come out of the sad mists and save you with maps for the future, wine, music and art!
I love that quilts historically have been the unrestricted voice of women. I feel part of this tradition and so make work that tells of my experience – hoping it will resonate with others.
