There is a beautiful new book out by Ineke Berlyn called Collections.
The contents are divided into 4 sections: The first is a collection of dresses – or to be more precise, quilts in the shape of dresses that Ineke has created over the last five years. Each dress has a story attached to it, and its lovely to read these as well as looking at the gorgeous pictures.
The second collection is a series of Journal Quilts made for the Contemporary Quilters, a group attached to the Quilters Guild.
Each year a different theme is set and Ineke has been rising to the challenges for over 6 years – so there’s lots of lovely eye candy!
Continuing the Journal Quilt challenges, for 2012, Ineke has worked on a series of sketchbooks and quilts inspired by chairs.
The final collection is based on “text in textiles”. Ineke explores calligraphy using her sketchbook pages and transferring her designes onto fabric.
A lovely book full of interesting stories and gorgeous photos which sells for just £10.
