Enid Marx (1902-1998) was one of the foremost designers of twentieth century Britain. Compton Verney’s Marx-Lambert Collection contains work produced by Enid Marx as well as over 400 items of folk and popular art which she collected with her lifelong companion, historian Margaret Lambert (1906-95). It was bequeathed by Marx to the gallery on her death.
This re-display takes its inspiration from the colour and designs of Marx’s work, making these galleries brighter and more vibrant. You will see Marx’s dynamic designs, inspirations and discover why Marx is one of the foremost designers of twentieth century Britain.
