The ArtPrize is an unusual idea from the States. A large prize of $200,000 is awarded to the piece of art that is voted the winner by all of us, using our mobiles and the internet to vote. The link explains it completely and also takes to you the website where you can see previous winners.
This year’s winner is Ann Loveless who has made 4 quilted panels measuring a total of 20 feet by 5 feet.
If you would like to enter, it’s an international competition open to everyone aged 18 and over. Here’s brief details for you, but please visit the website for full information.
The City Is Your Canvas
Anyone over 18, working in any medium, from any place in the world can enter ArtPrize® as an Artist to compete for the world’s largest ArtPrize.
Unlike any other art event of its size, organizers play no role in selecting the artists. Artists and Venues find each other, build connections, and organize exhibitions independently through artprize.org.
For artists, the process involves three simple steps:
- Register: Register your Artwork during the Artist Registration Period
- Connect: Secure your Connection with a registered ArtPrize Venue and sign a Hosting Agreement before the end of the Connections Period
- Exhibit: Display your Artwork at your Venue during ArtPrize; anyone over 16 can vote for the winner
